ACSPSNA aims to cultivate collaborations, further communications, and foster
innovations among Chinese-origin soil and plant scientists in North America on agricultural research, education, and extension.
Four categories of awards are being granted annually to qualified ACSPSNA members
The purpose of this award is to recognize distinguished career achievements made by a current or former ACSPSNA member in the profession of
Agronomy, Crop Science, or Soil Science. The award is to honor an individual who has made outstanding contributions in education, research,
innovation, development, extension, consulting, administration, international collaboration, or other professional activities.
Not more than one Distinguished Career Award shall be granted each year. Only active ACSPSNA members are eligible. Nominations of candidates
can be made by an individual (member or nonmember), group, company, or organization. A letter of nomination detailing the candidate’s
distinguished accomplishments accompanied with the candidate's CV and three recommendation letters shall be sent to the Chair of the Award
Committee. The deadline for submission of the nomination shall be announced each year.
The final recipient shall be selected by the Award Committee consisting of five members from the ACSPSNA executive committee and the past
president list.
The recipient for the ACSPSNA Distinguished Career Award will be presented a certificate and a gift card at the ACSPSNA meeting during the ASA-CSSA-SSSA
International Annual Meetings.

2. Outstanding Young Scientist Award
Candidates for this award must be an active ACSPSNA member and a working research scientist. Candidates must have completed a Doctor of
Philosophy (PhD) degree in plant and soil science related disciplines within the past five years.
The candidate may be nominated by others or self. A resume describing the following attributes should be submitted for evaluation.
a. Research/teaching contributions (40 points)
b. Academic achievements, honors, and awards (30 points)
c. Leaderships in an academic and professional capacity (25 points)
d. Service activities—community and professional organizations (5 points)
The recipient will be presented a certificate and a gift card at the ACSPSNA meeting during the ASA-CSSA-SSSA International Annual Meetings.

3. Outstanding Postdoc Scientist Award
Candidates for this award must presently be a postdoc scientist and an active member of ACSPSNA. Candidates must have completed a Doctor of
Philosophy (PhD) degree in plant and soil science related disciplines.
The candidate may be nominated by others or self. A resume describing the following attributes should be submitted for evaluation.

c. Leaderships in an academic and professional capacity (25 points)

4. Excellent Graduate Student Award
Candidates for this award must be a current member of ACSPSNA. Candidates must have completed at least one year of graduate work leading to
a Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy degree in plant and soil science related disciplines.
The candidate may be nominated by others or self. A resume describing the following attributes should be submitted for evaluation.
a. Research/teaching contributions (40 points)
b. Academic achievements, honors, and awards (30 points)
c. Leaderships in an academic and professional capacity (25 points)
d. Service activities—community and professional organizations (5 points)
Three recipients, one from each of A-C-S society, will be presented a certificate, a gift card, and $100 cash at the ASA-CSSA-SSSA International Annual
Meeting.
